We have all been there. Sometimes we crave something sweet. Some dessert. But well, our calorie budget is kinda limited, so how to do that without breaking the bank? And if there are some inter benefits added, even better.
I came up with this thing. It is loaded with fiber, has some protein, and is sweet. Sounds good, right? It tastes very reasonable as well.
Ingredients:
1 teaspoon of jam
4 teaspoons of bran
Splash of milk
Half of yogurt
Chocolate sprinkles or any chocolate in small pieces you like
If you double it, you have two servings and no yogurt left. It can be easily stored in the fridge for two days.
I usually use protein yogurt or simply add some protein powder to it.
Recipe:
Take a small crystal recipient/bowl/cup – anything you will serve it in.
Put the jam (pieces of fruit) at the bottom.
Add the bran and splash a little of milk on it, so that it is covered and absorbs the liquid.
Finish with a layer of yogurt.
Ads the chocolate sprinkles all over.
Thats it!
It is extremely easy and from my experience better the next day after the bran absorbed all the liquid. Your tummy will be happy as there is a lot of insoluble fiber there.
I have this when I want to eat something sweet but I don’t want to go for something crazy.
I have to add that I prepare myself homemade jam, so I won’t put any sugar in it or I sweeten it with some Splenda or some of these if the fruit is not very sweet. I used strawberry jam this time and there is no sweetness added. Spanish strawberries are awesome!
We can have good things guilt-free. It is not all about meat and veggies.
